[Scan-DC] Public Safety on UHF-T Band?

The way I read this is "Not likely to occur anytime by 2021". I think the
reality is the band is still in use in many ways albeit not as broadly as
in the past 50 years but still significantly enough and with certain local
aspects (NYC PD/FD and DC WMATA) come to mind that the rush to grab
spectrum "act" in 2012 was just that, a slip it into the bill move that few
will notice till it comes time to drop the ball on the folks affected.

Think of all the millions of dollars spent by Metro and the NYPD on
upgrades and radios to these systems. And then to be told by the FCC, Hey
guys in case you forgot you got to buy all new radios, repeaters, cabling,
infrastructure etc. cause we passed a vague bill back in 2012. LOL

Well the auction of spectrum is just that, the FCC can we make better use
of relatively unused spectrum and get money from potential backers of a
bill for the remains? Whats become the norm is to tack these whammies into
a bill that has absolutely nothing to do with the title of the original
bill to begin with.

You can read the entire bill here.

Crazy and greedy times we live in.
