[Scan-DC] Why Fort Ritchie? Russian state TV shows strike targets in Maryland

Ft Ritchie has been closed and the property handed over to the county in 1998. All the military are gone and the facilities are decaying at a rapid pace. There have been some attempts by the redevelopment agency to get something done with the land, but nothing seems to stick. If the Russians are targeting that site, their info is about 20 years out of date. I wonder if they think it’s the secret location of Stargate SG-1 🙄.

BTW, I used to got to occasional meetings at Ft Ritchie in the early 1980s and it was a very nice small post with beautiful scenery.

>> Mt. Weather has always been the relocation site for the civilian side of the executive branch, sort of a hub for individual agency sites. One interesting aspect of The Greenbrier is that it was intended not just to shelter Congress, but to allow them to continue performing their constitutional role as a bicameral legislative body.
