Sounds like we had vey similar upbringings leading to our professions...
MPDC, 27 & 1/2 years, now retired. I just remember many officers working
with scanners enthusists of old. My favorite was when a "scooter beat"
officer walked into our local Radio Shack and proceeded to write down all
of MPDC's channels with frequecies to help with the scanner sales (Police
Call was even famous then). A "form" of encryption has always been around,
back then it was inversion, but basically only the feds in this area were
using it.
