Replace the wires, distributor cap, rotor, sparkplugs, and points and make sure you have resistor
wire. You also may want to replace the condenser.
That's what I had to do in a '65 Mustang.
You could also need a new alternator if the brushesare shot. You could try an inline filter, but if thecar's electrical system is making noise and radiating,all bets are off.

Anybody know how to eliminate audio interference for an FM car radio converter connected to my Am radio. Once I start the car up a 74 Charger my signal gets drowned out by garbage and whining from the car electrical system.
