Kenny,I have a GRE PSR800 what thinks its a Whistler 1098. deciphers DMR as well as all phases of p25. Certainly not worth converting it back and sending to Whistler to pay to convert it again.
I don't know if you can find one at a reasonable price, but I use mine as much as the 436, side by side the sound is better on the 436 but the PSR800 is more sensitive. Joel R Kahn

I own a trx-1. It is great but suffers the same issues that most scanners have on simulcast systems. There is a bit of a learning curve to programming, even with the software. Simple setup is easy, but leaves you scanning a lot of frequencies and talk groups that aren't used.
The bottom line is, I would buy another.

Anyone own a 1098 or trx2? It's been a while since I've had a mobile in the car. I sold my bct15x last year. Everything is p25 phase 1,2 or hybrid now.
It would be a breaking away from the gre and uniden I'm familiar with.
