Where I listen in Maryland, Frederick, Montgomery, & Carrol counties
mostly, searches generally happen on the existing trunked systems, and it
sort of depends on the lead agency. If it is DNR, their repeater, if it is
Frederick County Fire Rescue, their trunked system. The last was a guy who
managed to injure himself in the woods in far northern Frederick County, I
think he went into the woods at night to try and retrieve a goat. All
operations were on the Frederick County Trunked radio system, including the
units from PA (it was right on the line), and a patch to Trooper 3. Happy
ending, they were able to get a neighbor's UTV in there to get him out.
