      Coast Guard brings communications gear to Florida Keys

      KEY WEST, Fla. — Members of the Coast Guard Deployable Communications Support Forces set up an enhanced mobile incident command post in Key West, Thursday.


      The team brought the vehicle from Mobile, Alabama, after Hurricane Irma left Coast Guard Sector Key West damaged and without power.

      The mobile incident command will help Coast Guard personnel and partner agencies working in the storm-damaged Keys communicate better and easier with responders and resources on the mainland.

      Florida state troopers escorted the caravan the entire time it was in Florida to ensure a safe and quick arrival to Coast Guard Sector Key West.
