AiNet brings dark fibre to D.C. Metro system

AiNet, a privately-owned telecommunications provider in Maryland, will connect Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metro stations to dark fibre as part of WMATA's modernisation efforts. AiNet announced its dark fibre now carries emergency alerts, 911 calls, health and safety bulletins to regional D.C. metro stations at gigabit speed.
AiNet said its dark fibre will increase streamline emergency response at major transit stations in the region. This critical fibre network will increase public safety and health efforts on the regional WMATA Metro network, making riders safer and streamlining functioning of essential WMATA services at these locations.
