Ocean City Fire Department Holding EMS Week Open House

Ocean City, Maryland – (May 1, 2017): The Ocean City Fire Department is opening its doors and inviting the public to come in and celebrate National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week on Sunday, May 21. Sticking with tradition, the OCFD Open House will focus on education, prevention and will also offer parents and children a hands-on look at life-saving measures.

The Open House, which will take place at fire department headquarters (15th Street & Philadelphia Avenue) is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. Among many planned activities for visitors, paramedic-firefighters will provide hands-only CPR demonstrations, tours of the new fire headquarters and also life-saving equipment demonstrations.

“The purpose of National EMS Week is to bring together our residents and medical personnel,” commented Ocean City Fire Captain, Richard Koch. “The Ocean City Fire Department is trying something new and hosting an Open House in the newly renovated headquarters building, in hopes of educating our residents and visitors, as well as honor the dedication of those who provide life-saving services.”

The Open House, which is held in conjunction with EMS Week, May 21-26, will offer family friendly activities and light refreshments.
