[Scan-DC] Is Anyone even using CB anymore?

Ha ha your description of ham nets is spot on, except you forgot all the 1950s-era "traffic handling" to make sure hams are prepared to pass along the nuclear launch codes and the coordinates of Pyongyang just in case all other communications methods have disappeared, along with our military and first responder personnel. My personal opinion is that the whole emergency communications aspect of ham radio has jumped the shark. If you haven't seen this great YouTube video poking fun at hams, take a look when you get a chance.

Our amateur radio enthusiast buys another ham radio instead of attending to the needs of his family. His wife is not pleased. This animated cartoon was my first ...

I don't think I have CB capabilities any more that would allow me to get on a CB net, unfortunately.

I guess the point here some of us get together once a year to talk scanners
at gravelly point or have lunch etc. Yeah HAM nets can be a bore sometimes,
with med talk, latest trip to the doc, weather reports you already no and
trivialities but if SCAN-DC had a "net" once a week on CB the point being
everyone in the group even those without a HAM license could join in the
roundtable. Topics could be favorite scanners, Mods, hearing unknown TG's
maybe some of us have already ID'ed as new etc. It was just an idea....
