[Scan-DC] Is Anyone even using CB anymore?

My experience was similar. I had a CB for years, in the 70s. However due to
the language, high power - illegal amps and the very crowded conditions I
dropped CB. I think some people would just see how many foul words they
could stream together in one sentence! I have a CB on my shelf and that is
likely where it will stay unless there is an emergency that will necessitate
its use. Between various mode and bands on the amateur radio I doubt it will
be pressed into use, but .....

Years ago, I went to the trouble to install a CB underdash in a car. I took
it on one trip. Wow, the language. I uninstalled the CB in no time.

Too bad, because I think CB has to be just about the biggest
unused/underused radio resource of them all. I would gladly listen in if it
weren't for the linear amps that go to 11 and not ready for prime time
language.

 Hi Greg,

CB provides a means to hear the professional drivers who are on the road,
and to learn about accidents, locations of speed traps, and suggested
detours around traffic jams.

While many drivers will not answer a call from a nondriver, they can be
shamed into cleaning up their language with a "Does your mamma know you talk
that way on the radio,"
