[Scan-DC] Is Anyone even using CB anymore?

Jeep owners, for two reasons. First, they often go out in the back country in groups. They might have to call in reinforcements to upright a vehicle that has rolled over. Second, because they go places where there isn't any cellphone coverage. Think Hurricane Katrina. The only forms of communication left after it came though were amateur radio and the unlicensed services: FRS, walkie-talkie, and CB.

Check some Wranglers for the telltale bumper-mounted whip. The drawback to having a CB in a Jeep is there is no metal roof - or any roof - to act as a ground plane.

The Jeep discussion groups should have a fair amount of discussion about CBs.

I do not own a Jeep. I do own a few CBs. It has been a while since I listened in.

I ... am wondering other than truckers if any DMV locals still talk to each other on the old CB channels.
