[Scan-DC] RadioReference.com vs. Terre Haute

Just read the post and I think LB's comments about "keep your mouth
shut..." is just inflammatory. I must say, however, I think a point should
be made that it is not illegal to program a "radio" (Moto, Harris or any
other) just to MONITOR a system. I've used Motorola radios to monitor
various DC systems since the early 90s (beginning with the STX) and
continue to do so. I do, however, disable the radio to transmit and I
don't even try to monitor specific TGs (Narc, Vice, ERT, Special Ops,
etc.). Actually I'm not too interested in LE comms mostly FD, EMS, OEM and
similar.
I do also use multiple scanners as well.
We MUST monitor the "hobby" or we will end up with restrictions such as
those placed on cellular phones. I DO NOT help anyone that I don't
personally know and sometimes not even those I do know.

I also agree that streaming audio from scanners (or other communication
devices) may well kill the hobby. I wished there was an alternative to RR
to support that did not stream nor supported streaming. I would join in a
heart beat.
