The base units were on 43-46 Mhz and handsets were on 49 Mhz.
Baby monitors and cheap walkie-talkie shared the 49 Mhz freq

The cordless phones went to 902 Mhz, then 1.2 Ghz, then 2.4 Ghz, and now 5.8 Ghz.

The 49 Mhz is from the 80's

Subject: [Scan-DC] Old portable phone frequency

The older portable phone frequency's ran between, I believe 43mhz, and
just below 50mhz. I scanned that frequency range the other night. All I
heard were a few signals that sounded like a paging system, and a signal
that sounded like 300 baud packet. Have these frequency's been
reallocated? Is anybody still using a pager?
