DATELINE: New York
Richmond: Loudoun County Government, The State of Virginia has issued the following news release:
The Loudoun County Emergency Communication Center (ECC), in conjunction with Loudoun County Fire and Rescue and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, will be conducting live scenario-based training over the 800 MHz radio dispatch system from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday June 15 and Thursday June 16, 2016. The ECC is preparing to launch a new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System in the near future and this live training is necessary to ensure optimal operations for processing emergency calls for both Fire-Rescue and Law Enforcement.
For those that routinely listen to a radio scanner, you may hear these training calls in addition to actual emergency incidents. At the beginning of each training event, ECC personnel will make an announcement identifying that a training scenario is being conducted. You may also become aware of additional fire-rescue and law enforcement vehicles that are participating in these scenarios on area roadways.
If you have concerns regarding an incident, please contact Public Information Officer Laura Rinehart, 571-233-1649, for fire-related information and Public Information Officer Kraig Troxell, 703-771-5278, for law enforcement inquiries.
