[Scan-DC] Fw: United Airlines confiscated my scanner.

Agree completely.  There is no way the flight attendant could know what was in his carry on.  I have traveled with ht's, scanners, a KX1 with rolls of #24 wire for antennas and never had anyone on the plane asked me to open my carry on.  Of course, I also never took them out on the plane.

So, yes, it would be nice to know the rest of the story.  

I do use a Bluetooth headset with my iPad and I can't quite understand how that doesn't cause a problem.
