Active Shooter Exercise - Washington Adventist Hospital

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

October 29, 2015

The Takoma Park Police Department and Washington Adventist Hospital will be conducting a full scale Active Shooter Exercise on October 30, 2015 from 9 am to 12 noon at the Lisner building, located next to the main hospital. The exercise will be testing the cooperation of police with hospital staff, proper emergency procedures by hospital staff, notification procedures, and response to mass casualties.  Also participating will be Montgomery County Fire Rescue and police officer from Montgomery County Police Third District.

There is no need for concern for nearby residents, persons at the hospital or Washington Adventist University, and any visitors to the area. Safety precautions will be in place for the exercise. It is recommended to avoid the area if possible to allow personnel to conduct the exercise.
