Hi folks,
I have done a bit of minimal exploration with SDR - mainly just listening
to a few FM radio stations and fooling around with the free SDR software
out there.
I'm looking to get a bit more involved in that community but had a few
questions.
One of the things I'm interested in is putting together something like
PiAware with a cheap dongle and a Raspberry Pi 2. I have a TON of trees in
my neighborhood and the amount of completely open sky is pretty limited.
Would I be wasting my time with an application like PiAware or is there
SOME signal reach even through trees?
I do realize that I can take it someplace more open if it's built using a
Raspberry Pi - but I'd be using it mainly around my house.
Have any of you done anything really neat with SDR that you'd like to
share? I don't want to break the bank or have to do any serious hardware
mounting on my house - but just curious what kinds of things you folks are
doing with this tech.
Thanks!
Kenny Lorber
