[Scan-DC] DC TV Station helicopter(s)

As I understand things, there is one news copter, and the stations share the 
costs and images...Last time I saw it, it was rather generic looking.

My search ended up with no answer to my question. I know that at one time 
some or all of the DC TV stations had their own branded helicopters but at 
some point they abandoned that and some or all of them went in together and 
agreed they would share helicopter footage in order to not have the high 
cost of having an “exclusive” helicopter to their own.

Anyone know any facts behind this? If some any information on the helicopter 
itself and what kind it is and who runs the helicopter? Looking for a tail 
number of it as well.
