Actually, no - the weather wasn't that bad, snowing but not that bad. The flight arrived at IAD around 3:10 pm and left westbound around 6:30 pm. The reg is RA-85655

I am guessing the current weather conditions in the Mid-Atlantic US will scrub or delay the proposed flight.
Of course, the Russian pilot may be used to this weather!

The Tu-154 appears to be an exact copy of the Hawker Siddeley Trident,
including the same wing sweep angle and positioning of the doors and
emergency exits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawker_Siddeley_Trident
The Tu-154 first flew 6 years after the Trident. The Soviets obtains
blueprints for Concorde in the 60s. Conceivably, they could have done the
same for the Trident.
Or, like Dewey said, there are only so many places to stick wings, engines,
doors, etc.
