Todays file share things handle all the size of photos automatically,
etc...it is simpler than it use to be.
On the malware issue, well ok...who knows, it seems like a tight exclusive
group of really smart people.
I would feel free posting my phone number with all of you.
This group is not a place to catch a virus. I would only worry about the
emails you open up on general email or some
funky place on the internet, and this is an exclusive group of a few hundred
people .
There are ways, that on listserves, you can or can not do the photo
thing...if that makes one more comfortable.
There are options like a week in review, etc. What would you think about an
archive of photos of shacks?
I don't want to rock the nice boat here...but I see a lot of people that
probably are able to share photos. No one
will be hurt...it is just a photo.
OK, start a demo beta site, see if that works....you can have both.
Oh, and I am not asking to run it...I talk a good game, but this is not my
specialty...but I enjoy such things on other
sites that are free and have manager rights. You all are 20x more than
qualified to upgrade, on Google Groups or some thing...

Paul,
Ask the moderator. But
It's probably most members don't know about file size, and also as
you know "jpg" files can also be disguise for self-installing malware.
Please no yahoo (flickr), facebook (instagram), and similar where
social networking is the bait, images are incidental. We have a
mailing list. Occasionally relevant photos to share? one site that
accommodates a range of craft and business model where storing images
for others to see is the product, is smugmug. Dont you think
something like that would work since only the links would be posted
in the message in Scan-DC list.
Apologies in advance if you know this already
