Bob, The best I can do is suggest that you talk to the old Motorola office
on 4 Mile Run and Beuregard. The changed their name to Wireless
Communications or something similar. The are on the SW corner one buliding
(gas station) away from the corner on 4 Mile Run. They used to take up the
who building but a buddy in DC area told me they have moved to the back
half. They have been in business on 4 Mile Run since the 50's and there is
bound to be someone there who remembers the older stuff. If he is still
alive, ask for Kirby or, if he isn't there anymore, talk to the boss, Bob
Powell (he may be gone too).
I wish I could be more help but I left Moto in 1993 and only visited Kirby
agter hours until I left DC for Texas in 2001. My info is seriously dated.
Good luck,
Glenn
