Interesting tact to take to open access to the public airwaves. I hope
they are successful and that sets a precedent. I'll have to look later
to see what the Virginia FOI Act says, if anything. Perhaps that is a
route to take, make a pre-emptive strike by working the General
Assembly to add/strengthen language to head off across-the-board
encryption. This could be a good time to act, given everything going
on in Missouri the past week. State newspapers and the state Freedom
of Information council (or whatever the watchdog group is called)
would be good groups to head up this push.
