[Scan-DC] Blast from the Past on MCFRS 7A

Did anyone else catch the ECC (ops, PSCC) supervisor (I guess?) dispatching for a brief moment this morning around 0800 on Montgomery 7A? It was a real treat from the past, he had the radio voice and cadence of the old-school dispatchers where even the time was laborious to pronounce. That’s probably an acquired taste for some of you, but I always could judge a call’s severity by the dispatcher’s voice. A lot of the new dispatchers sound “flat” and on the radio and all their words congeal together. I remember a few threads on the now-defunct The Watch Desk website that had an archive of all classic the MCFRS “celebrity” dispatchers announcing the station ID, KGC-334 at various hours. I don’t know how much archive material is out there in the wild, but this morning I flashed back 25 years. Growing up, I always felt like I had listened to a good radio show after listening for a few hours.

Sounds like he’s back on the air at 0857!

David
