UPPER MARLBORO, MD - On Friday, July 11, 2014, The Prince George’s County Office of Emergency Management will conduct a Mass Care, Shelter, and Evacuation Procedure Exercise. This exercise is a collaborative effort among several partnering agencies. It is designed to test our ability to evacuate neighborhoods and shelter affected populations within Prince George’s County.   

Overall, this exercise is designed to test two plans: the Prince George’s County Mass Care and Shelter Plan and the Prince George’s County Evacuation Plan.  In addition, the exercise provides an opportunity for our first responders as well as health and human services personnel to assist the movement and evacuation of residents and their pets while assisting with community stabilization and mental and emotional care of displaced residents in need.        

Participating Prince George’s County Agencies include the Office of the County Executive’s Communications Office, Office of Homeland Security/Emergency Management, Department of Public Works and Transportation, Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement, Department of the Environment , Fire/EMS Department, Department of Social Services, Department of Family Services, Office of the Sheriff, Public Schools, Department of Corrections, Office of Law, Office of Community Relations, Office of Finance, Office of Central Services, and Public Safety Communications.  Participating Non-governmental Organizations include the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Agency, Islamic Relief USA and the American Red Cross

8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:  Exercise Activity at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School, 12650 Brooke Lane, Upper Marlboro, MD
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.:  Exercise Activity at Cameron Grove, 12916 Fox Bow Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD
