[Scan-DC] 5 Alarms in Montgomery County

I'm really showing my age with this ..... I was at two 5 alarm fires in
Montgomery County, MD one in the 70's (I was in the FD).
The first was The Liberty Mill fire at Rt 118 and the railroad tracks. A
dual lay of 2 1/2" was required all the way from Rt 355 and that's why so
many alarms were required.
And the second was when I was 2 years old (1958) ..... and my parents took
me to what I always called The Butler Rd Oil Fire See:
http://members.gefd.org/apps/public/news/newsView.cfm?News_ID=68 I'll bet
most of you never even heard of that one. And that was a BIG deal. The large
oil tanks were burning near the large gasoline tanks and they were putting
all the water on the gasoline tanks to cool them. My father said well ....
time to go! I did not want to, but alas. I believe that was where I got
interested in all this ....... pretty impressive when you're 2.

I've noticed in different regions, the Alarm Levels vary Boston (Metro Fire)
has a 10 Alarm Running Card assignment.

It was atleast 30+ yrs ago they moved from a 5 Alarm plan to the 10 Alarms.
Prior to this it was 5 Alarms then "General Alarm" with special call of
companies as needed.

apparently a 9-alarm fire in the boston MA area with 2 firefighters killed.
:(
Got me to wondering, what's the biggest fire (most "alarms") that anyone can
remember around here?
I think there have been some 5 alarms in Montgomery County, but I couldn't
be specific (about anything, # of alarms, or when, or where), and I think
there has been a 6 or 7 alarm fire in DC and / or maybe Alexandria...

I believe during the Fire Storm brush fires in 2011 I think there was an
equivalent of 11 alarms in PG County.
