[Scan-DC] 911 call released in Alexandria music teacher's slaying

I can't speak for Alexandria, but I know this is what upsets a lot of folks
in DC. Problem is that they don't realize that response is on the way
unless the call taker specifically says so. However, that is why the first
thing you will hear on emergency calls is "What's the address of your
emergency"? What the call taker does is enter the address and nature of the
call and immediately "send" it to the zone with **MIC**... More Information
Coming. Then while they are continually talking to you on the phone, they
are also continually updating the "slip" (computerized call for service) and
resending the info each time there is a significant change or new piece of
information. As mentioned, this is all transparent to the caller unless the
call taker explains what they are doing. This is how DC has been doing it
since my time in the 80's. The methods and abbreviations may have changed
over time, but I would bet that the mechanics of how it is done are still
the same.

I'd like to hear the PD dispatch with time stamps, and the 911 call
with time stamps.
At no time did I hear the call taker say that units were on the way.
The call taker's questions elicited a lot of misinformation.
I wonder when during the call the PD units were dispatched.
