The grassy area behind George Mason Elementary School was used as the landing zone for the Washington Hospital Center helicopter last Thursday too.
Go to 0:52 in this tape. I mean video, not tape. You'd think I'd have that figured out by now.

The camera operator was standing in or near the playground or parking lot of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He's facing southeast. The street in the background is Clay Street. There's a circle at the end where cars can turn around.

Nearby George Mason ES has been used as an LZ. Years ago, someone trimming trees came into contact with one phase of a street feed power line. He lived. The ball field behind GMES was turned into an LZ for the Washington Hospital Center helo. Alexandria public service was analog at that time, and I had my PRO-67 on. I went up there to see what was going on. I met the person at a yard sale much later. After 23 operations, he was still hurting. He says the line was energized at 19,200 volts, but I've heard other figures about what the line voltage was.
