[Scan-DC] 5. Loudoun Fire dispatch (Walt Tolpa)

Loudoun Fire-Rescue dispatch, simulcast of trunked system 6A is 46.38 mHz.
It is my opinion that LCFR increased the wattage on 46.38 about 2 months
ago. It is easier to pick up and can be received farther away.
Their trunked digital radio system is TDMA and not encrypted. Fairfax is
CDMA and is not encrypted either. (Earl Suitor)

Anyone have any info about a possible working fire in Montgomery earlier
today?? I missed it... heard the pie wagon from 5 clearing from something,
and awhile later, something, didn't catch what he said, from one of the
investigators or a command officer or somebody... may have been in the
Kensington area... thanks...

I have a number of Motorola portables that I would like to get out of my
basement. Most are working. Some are like new and some are rough. I do
not want to ship them but your are happy to come by and look at them and
take any or all. I am in Fairfax County. If anyone is interested please
contact me off list.

What I have:
HT220 -- VHF and UHF
MT500 -- VHF-Low, VHF-High, and UHF
MX300 series -- VHF and UHF
Expo -- VHF and UHF
Minitor Pagers (These are the original Minitors) I believe these are all
VHF-High Spirit Pagers -- UHF Pageboy Pagers -- VHF and UHF I may have some
Sabers as well.

The HTs, MTs and MXs have all different options ranging from paging to scan
to keypads to encryption (MX series). I have chargers for all as well.

Thanks.

David

Loudoun fire dispatch is 47.380. Would anyone know if there is a Loudoun or
Fairfax fire dispatch not encrypted in VHF or UHF range?

I have a handheld VHF/UHF ham Xcvr and would like to monitor Loudoun or
Fairfax dispatch.

I think I am out of luck but thought I would check.

Thanks

47.38 MHz is considered VHF.
But Loudoun FD fireground operations are on 800 MHz So far as I know, all
Fairfax dispatching and operations are on 800 MHz.

Fairfax used to simulcast the dispatch on 460.575. But they ended that in
2008.
