I, like many others who have enjoyed Monitoring Times magazine over the
years, was quite disappointed to hear that MT will cease publication
after the December issue.

It was revealed in the November issue of MT that Ken Reitz, long-time MT
editor and columnist, will start a new monthly publication called The
Spectrum Monitor in January 2014.  The Spectrum Monitor Writers' Group
consists of former columnists, editors and writers for Monitoring Times.
  It will only be available in an electronic (PDF?) format, and the
charter subscription rate is $20/year (the normal rate of $24/year will
apply after December 15th).  I talked to Ken via email this morning, and
he said they might assess offering multi-year subscriptions after their
first year.
