[Scan-DC] WiFi Spectrum Displays on cell phones

On my Android phone I use:

WiFi Analyzer, my favorite - Which shows a graphical display of channels and
strength in dbm, or a list of SSIDs, devices, and the strength. Really Cool.
The graphical display is great for mapping the signal strength in a house or
office, and seeing if other signals are strong on the same channel. Note -
You can leave your device on the same channel as others to keep the
"snooping" range short, or your can move it to a clear channel to get
greater range.

WiEye, which graphically shows the signals around me. If you opt in, this
app also sends data that allows a University to map congestion and create
better algorithms (allegedly).

NOTE - you can purchase a fairly new Android phone in the $20 range on Ebay,
which you can dedicate to Ham Radio and other apps. Search for: android bad
esn

This will find a list of phones with bad serial numbers. You won't be able
to activate them, and at this price who cares?

I thought I had an app on my iPad, but it turns out that it requires a $99
appliance to work, and for that it only does 2.4Ghz! If you jailbreak your
iPad/iPhone you can download Wifi Analyzer for cydia - more here:

Apple removed WiFi Analyzer and similar apps from their store in 2010 - more

May we listen well 'n often,
