7th Annual National Capital Region SWAT Association

Tactical Competition

Montgomery County Police Outdoor Firearms Range

Poolesville, Maryland

Friday, October 11, 2013

7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Media coverage - Advance authorization is required)

Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger will make opening remarks at the
7th Annual National Capital Region SWAT Association Tactical Competition.

The National Capital Region SWAT Association is comprised of more than 30
agencies in the National Capital Region. It includes federal, state, and
local agencies and was created in 2005 to facilitate mutual aid among SWAT
teams in the region. One of the main functions of the association is to
provide training resources and dissemination of tactical knowledge and
experience to member agencies. This association also provides critical
incident protocols for multi-agency responses to large scale operations in
the DC area.

This year's event will also serve as a fundraiser and raffle for the Jason
Schneider Memorial Fund. Jason was a Baltimore County SWAT officer who was
shot and killed on August 28, 2013 during a high risk search warrant in
Catonsville, Maryland.

Members of the media are encouraged to cover this event during the hours
listed above. Tactical officers will be available for interviews and
limited opportunities for filming and photography will be allowed. Advance
authorization is required. Please contact the Media Services/Public
Information Office at 240-773-5030.

Please call the Police Public Information Office with questions.
