The U.S. Capitol Police frequency 169.225 MHz was chock full of radio traffic at the time. I suppose it's just as well that I didn't go up on the roof.

I think that the chopper was doing surveillance for a presidential 
motorcade. I say presidential, for I think that only the president gets 
the ambulance at the end of the motorcade and has Metropolitan Police 
vehicles physically blocking traffic on the cross streets. I saw such a 
motorcade traveling down Pennsylvania Avenue near the National Gallery 
of Art at 12:21pm.
