Kenneth (& all),
Re the federal govt fire stations in Mtgy county:
The Walter Reed station is 54 and is in Silver Spring (Montgomery Hills) MD at the Walter Reed Annex... I guess it's still called that. That fire house is fairly new, not sure what the plans are for that Annex since the main Walter Reed in DC is now closed (or closing, I don't know if the property is now vacant) as part of BRAC (Barak) :( .
There is a separate federal govt fire station at "Bethesda Naval Hospital", also one at Nat'l institutes of Health. One of them is 50, the other is 51, I can never remember which is which. NIH and the navy hospital (or whatever it's called now) are basically opposite each other... navy hospital and US uniformed health services are between Connecticut and Wisconsin Avenues inside the beltway, and NIH is between Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road.
55 was the one at the old Naval Ordnance Lab in the White Oak area of
Silver Spring (10300 block New Hampshire Avenue), it's long gone. Food
and Drug Admin is on that property now in a new building o(r maybe
several)...
53 is the one at NIST in Gaithersburg (Nat'l inst of stds and technology, formerly Natl bureau of standards)
52 is at the naval ship research and dev center or whatever it's now called, used to be known as David Taylor Model Basin, at Carderock, I-495 just before crossing over the Cabin John Bridge (or whatever _that's_ called!) from MD into VA.
They all run calls into Mtgy county and verse-visa and are dispatched as 750, 751, 752, 753, 754 according to the COG mess.
hope this is of a little help
Regards,
Doug
Station 51, KMG-365 :)
