They don't go bad with age and are fairly rugged but can suffer mechanical
damage. Why do you suspect the crystal?

You can try G&G Communications or kenslectronincs.com or Bomar or
International Crystal for a replacement.

Sonar used a 10.7 MHz IF and might use the same crystals as a Regency.

Do crystals go bad, as in going off-frequency?  Anybody have any idea of
someplace where I could get a crystal (remember them) for a scanner?  The
scanner in question is an old Sonar VHF High Band, model FR-105.  It uses
the same crystals as another popular one that was made by Unimetrics and
sold by Lafayette.

(I'm sure this takes many of you back to the Dark Ages, or at least the Tube
Ages!)

I wouldn't mind trying to put this radio back in service...
