Alan, thanks for pointing out this article.  I wasn't aware it had been 
published, but I received a similar reply from the sheriff via the 
county commissioners last week.  I intend to follow up with the 
commissioners in the next week or so, urging them again to take action.  
Also, a rebuttal to the sheriff's message is in the works.

I know that many Scan-DC'ers share my view that the majority of comms 
should be in the clear.  Please let the commissioners know how you feel 
(BOCC at stmarysmd.com), especially if you are a St. Mary's County resident.
