Just thinking out loud, but did my homework and the "Live scanner" app for
the PC does this. It is on the RR wiki. I do not believe a mobile app has
been coded yet but I could be wrong

has anyone at Scan-DC every put out a list of mobile apps for scanning. I
guess RR has done this already with a recommendation for which ones work
best and on which OS?, Android vs. apple, etc. I know a digital scanner is
the way to go, just never could afford one. Broadcastify I think took over
the streams from RR. It would be really cool if someone coded a app that
allows you to pick and choose more than one stream at a time and then use a
priority list to mark say 10 channels as to what is processed to hear and
in what order. I guess the writer would be under a lot of grief from LE for
turning cheap phones into digital scanners. I still find it difficult to
make older ham ops try Echolink :) Someone should also write a article in
depth on the scanner app/phone, with legalities, reviews etc. I have tried
a few of them and have 2 favorites, Do not want a knock on my door at 4AM
from swat team thinking my phone is a criminal activity. The reason I think
it is pertinent though is the Big Bear LAPD thing and the Boston event,
both times I believe the site owners were contacted by LE to shut down
their sites for officers protection, this only makes sense especially in
the case of the Military guy/Ex-LAPD case. What do you think of all this?
Get me back to the 80's when analog was still the way to go on scanners. I
hope we never have a future like "Minority Report, luckily I will not be
alive to see it I hope.
