[Scan-DC] [Wallops Island] Company Targets April 17 for Inaugural Launch

If the launch goes off as planned in about 28 minutes, it will include the eventual release of three very small satellites called Cubesats, each about 10 cm on a side. The Cubesats have amateur radio packet transmitters operating on 437.425 MHz. The satellites are operating on battery power only, so they will only last about one week. The Cubesats are called PhoneSats, because they are demonstrating the use of smartphones to act as the CPU, accelerometer, and imaging sensor for Cubesat missions.

Who's got the frequencies? The nice thing about 5 p.m. is that the trail should be visible, and if there are delays, you've got quite a few hours before bedtime for the launch to go off.
