The following announcement has been posted on MSFA:

Southern Maryland Fire/EMS Audio

Good evening,

As many of you know www.ScanMD.org has grown to incorporate scanner feeds from all three Southern Maryland Counties as well as offering a wide variety of communication resources for first responders. These scanner feeds include Fire/EMS and police communications for each county including Pax River Fire/Rescue.

At www.ScanMD.org we also have the ability to get the recorded audio from the scanner feeds from up to 90 days prior to the request. Many of your department members have requested audio from incidents and typically they are downloaded, edited and added to the site within 72 hours. These audio files are available for use on your website, post incident critiques or training. All we ask is your provide credit for the audio to www.ScanMD.org.

www.ScanMD.org would also like to offer the customers of Firehouse Solutions websites the opportunity to have the audio page incorporated into their website as it has been done in Bay District VFD’s website (http://www.bdvfd.org/public/audio). The audio page is embedded into your department’s webpage and when a visitor clicks on an audio file it directs them to the audio page on www.ScanMD.org where they can listen to the audio and see a Google map of the incident location. Doing this does not give www.ScanMD.org the ability to view, change, add or modify your site; the page embedding will be performed by the staff at Firehouse Solutions. When www.ScanMD.org updates our website with new audio, it is automatically updated on the webpage that was embedded.

If you would like add a link to your county Fire/EMS (and/or law enforcement) feed on your department website, please let us know and we will assist you.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like any additional information feel free to contact us at info at ScanMD.org and we will be happy to assist you.
