Have you figured anything out yet?

I have been listening to FFX fire on my HP the last couple of days. I have to say, the quality of the demodulated signal has been generally poor, choppy, and distorted, even for digital. Almost unreadable most of the time. Not sure if this has any relationship at all to your issue.
