All -

Doug had a very good question and there were a lot of good options suggested.

I was about to suggest the long power strips also but I was beaten to it
through the discussion. I plan to install one of those strips, as was
suggested, under my desk for all the computer/radio paraphernalia and in
the Great Room the consumer electronics.

When I had my house built, I requested a lot of outlets in what was to be
my office/radio room, the kitchen area and the Great Room area for the
consumer electronics. It is hard to believe they are already being used
up.

I am already short of outlets even though I had four outlets/box installed
where code would only call for two outlets/box. In a couple cases poor
planning caused furniture to block the outlets, though. So the use of the
strips is a good idea to loosen up a couple outlets.

A lot of outlets installed when you are building or remodeling is a good
idea and the additional cost is not too great. Ensure, though, you have
the power to support them. As we are talking mainly about wall warts,
their power consumption is relatively low. Though power requirements can
add up it is nothing compared to having a bunch of lights or a linear amp
on the circuit.

No matter which method is used, I also plan to use cable ties, the split
plastic pipe, cable cuffs, etc. to bunch the wires together to make it
look nicer and to keep from tripping over the things.
