[Scan-DC] Power distribution

Thanks Andy, Russ Davies also mentioned those privately, definitely gonna get some... I also like the idea of getting a 12V supply with a fair amount of current, then could break that down across a barrier strip and run some of the radios off 12V... the ultimate solution will probably be a combination of all this.
(dunno why you can't seem to find a power strip that would accommodate multiple bricks, but maybe that's too easy...)
Thanks again, one and all... continuing...

To help avoid this, I use a set of one-foot power cord extenders that are made for this very purpose. As an example, here is a set for sale on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/1-Foot-Extension-Power-Cable-5-Pack/dp/B000CRFOMK. I find these little cables very handy for making the best use of power strips with wall-warts. You don't lose any sockets that way.

>> OK, Scan-DCers, I need you to put on your thinking caps and give me some ideas. The desk in my man cave is a jumble of computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, modem, router, printer, computer speakers, phone, clock, lamps, associated & assorted cables, shortwave radio, various scanners (radios), external speakers for those, outlets strips, and last but not least, those miserable power supply "bricks" for all the various and sundry crap above (picture follows). I'm fed up with the mess, and the thing that bothers me the most is the three, count 'em, three, outlet strips that are necessary to operate this conglomeration. I think the place to start is to come up with a reasonable solution to the power distribution and get it off the desk. Of course, the damnable bricks make it necessary to have three outlet strips when one or two would otherwise suffice, since they take up two or three outlets' worth (I yearn for the days when the equipment was a

But, it also occured to me to ask the folks here for any thoughts or ideas; I wondered if anyone else is plagued by a similar situation. Any thoughts and ideas are welcome... anything is better than what I have, which is a fire hazard at best.
