This info comes in a very roundabout way from Larry Van Horn (Larry, please chime in if you have any more to add).

>> That base/mobile would be the PSR900 and Larry Van Horn posted the following at RR.com:

>>
>> We have talked to GRE America directly early this week and I can confirm what Lindsay and Jeff have passed along is true in virtually every aspect. The recently-announced PSR900 will not be released and their popular scanner preamp is discontinued as well. They will continue to provide inventory until current stock runs out (several hundred pieces of most models), after which they will support warranty returns, repairs, and PSR-800 updates here in their U.S. location. The newest PSR800 software is now available for download.
>>
>> Neither Radio Shack nor Uniden has shown any interest in picking up the product line. GRE is exploring the possibility of another investor taking over, but not continuing the GRE name.
>>
>> Although Alinco will continue to manage the U.S. operation, the discontinuation of GRE products will have no effect on the Alinco product line.
