Subject: Frederick County Open House

OPEN HOUSE EVENT
 
          On Thursday, August 2nd, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. the 
Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with Frederick County 
Emergency Communications, the Maryland State Police, and Frederick County 
Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services to host a family-oriented Open House 
event at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center (LEC), located at 110 
Airport Drive East, Frederick, MD. 
 
            Table displays, building tours and a (short) less lethal 
weapons educational class will be available inside the facility.  Outside, 
in the front parking lot of the LEC, citizens will be able to check out an 
array of police vehicles and chat with public safety professionals. 
Weather and conditions permitting, there will be a helicopter on display 
provided by Maryland State Police Aviation and a fire engine and ambulance 
provided by United Steam Fire Engine Company, Station 3.  K-9 
demonstrations will also be held throughout the evening.  “This is both a 
fun family event and an opportunity for citizens to come out and learn 
more about the public safety agencies and personnel in their community,” 
said Sheriff Jenkins.  He added, “last year we had a great turn out and I 
hope this year it’s even better.”
