<audience, shouting>
"How intense will it be, Johnny?"
The action in front of the Supreme Court will be so intense this morning that even Pat Collins will be sent down there to interview demonstrators who will see if you really can fry an egg on the sidewalk in this heat.
<rim shot>
I'm sending this post now, because starting at 10:00 a.m., there won't be any electrons available within 20 miles, and we'll have to communicate by means of semaphores. Lifeguards from Ocean City will be doing stand-ups for CNN.
The U.S. Capitol Police are still analog. Constitutionally, speaking, SCOTUS is not their domain, but there will be so many news people there that the grassy area between the Capitol and the Court will be used for stand-ups. Also, it is my experience that the Park Police and MPD will provide officers on Harleys and Honda Rebels.
Are the local TV stations and news bureaus still using their VHF and UHF frequencies, or is everything done by cellphone now?
I'd go over there, but I'm afraid my supervisor would notice how much more efficiently things run when I'm not there.
I see I've left both my scanner and a Boy Scout Handbook at home, so I'll be in the dark.
