[Scan-DC] NASA T-38 jets to fly low over D.C. next month

I remember it too - I was driving south on Connecticut Avenue between
Kensington and the Beltway and There It Was. You could instantly tell what
it was, and it really slowed down traffic.

Yes, I remember and think about it once in a while when this next planed
flyover is mentioned.  I believe it was one of those times when the shuttle
was forced to land on the west coast due to weather, and was transported via
747 back to Florida (as you mentioned).

Does anyone remember a shuttle flying over piggy backed sometime in the
80'S?  I remember seeing one, but can't find any reference to it.  Maybe it
had to land in California and was being transported back to Florida?
