To: All users of radio scanners who monitor Frederick County Government’s 800MHz trunked Radio System

Subject: Changes to Frederick County Government’s 800MHz trunked radio system frequencies 
In accordance with the 800 MHz rebanding order issued by the Federal Communications Commission, and on the schedule adopted by all of the National Capital Region’s 800MHz licensees, Frederick County will be changing some of the frequencies that our 800MHz trunked radio system operates on beginning at noon on February 21, 2012 and expected to conclude by close of business on February 24, 2012. 

The change in frequencies has already been programmed into the County’s 800MHz portable and mobile radios, but the first changes to the fixed network equipment at our transmitter tower sites will begin on February 21, 2012 at 1200hrs. Personnel with “trunk-tracker” scanners should expect to have to adjust their scanners in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions to accept the new frequencies listed in the outlined columns below.
