[Scan-DC] Two working Montgomery fires

Hi Doug -

Correction - She and a friend were in a cooking class - saw an older
gentleman "going off" and being surrounded by other people - he may have
been screaming fire, or just upset, or arguing. She then saw flames/smoke.
Someone stated it was coming from the paper products aisle. The power
started going out in parts of the store as they left. The FD was on the
scene before they left the lot. Neither wants to be interviewed by the
media.

Instead of monitoring the scanner I was dutifully attending to a conference
call. Last time I'll let that stop me.

May you listen well 'n often!

Wow... did your neighbor say what part of the store he was in / where the
fire was, Rick?  For the list, this is a good-sized store.  There's a food
prep and service area and deli in the front left corner as you face the
store; I'll bet it was there.  I was in there on Sunday; my Mom lives in
Riderwood Village, the retirement community right across the street.  Lots
of seniors shop in that store; I was wondering about that while listening,
as it sounded like the evacuation was going slowly.  Apparently no one was
injured, and I did hear eventually that a secondary search had been
completed with nothing found.  Hopefully at that time it wasn't too busy or
things were slowing down... every time I've ever been in there it's been
bustling.

Helo must be a news chooper... hovering overhead fanning the flames?  :)
