[Scan-DC] BC796D "Factory Reset"?

OK, gang, need some help here... if I do a "factory reset" or a "hard reset" of a Uniden BC796D digital trunking scanner (turn off radio, hold down the MANUAL, 2, & 9 buttons, then turn on the set), what _exactly_ will that do?  

In other woids-

1.  Will it wipe out any programming that I have in it?
2.  Will it destroy any firmware updates that I've installed?
 and c., will it merely reset all menu settings to the factory defaults (without messing with the firmware and / or without messing with the programming?

(I _think_ I know the answers, bit I don't psecially want to find out the hard way... yet!)  :)
