Sorry, I don't get it.
What's the relationship between the Motorola channel plan assumptions
and a channel that has a 0 in the 4th place after the decimal point
and the way my scanner operates?

If you read the rebanding article in the RR Wiki, I think you'll find that it becomes easier to understand.....

Fortunately it appears, at least for right now, that the custom table that will be required is the same one that's been
widely documented. However, as the article above rightly points out, you should have the latest firmware (and in most cases,
software to go along with it) to have this capability.
For example, the BCD396T and 996T need version 3 firmware or better to be able to handle rebanding. Prior to this won't work.
And from reading the various posts about the update process, it's not pretty at all - it is, in fact, a royal pain. The 396XT
and 996XT are rebanding ready out of the box. Home Patrol users would need to wait until the database has been updated, then
apply the updated system to their favorites.
Since there's been a good number of questions about the PRO-96/2096 and rebanding, the answer is both scanners can be
modified for it - but it has to be done via software. This too is mentioned in the rebanding article. The other scanner models
are also mentioned in this article.
It should be pointed out that at least for the Unidens, you cannot put more than one system in a bank (or in DMA terms, a system).
This is because they will lock onto the first control channel it sees and ignores the rest. So for these, if you were to
use the solution Alan posted recently, you would need to have 2 banks (DMA systems) - one with the old frequencies, another with
the new frequencies, along with the custom table definition. It would be possible to assign them the same SQK, however.
I'm not clear on how the RS/GRE radios would handle the 2 systems in the same TSYS, but I guess we'll find out shortly...
best regards...Mike
